Prix culturel Manor Vaud 2005
Didier Rittener. Eccentric Society
The Manor Vaud Prize 2005 was unanimously awarded to Lausanne-based artist Didier Rittener (1969).
A founding member of the contemporary art association Circuit in Lausanne—an organization that has been organizing exhibitions, producing editions, and publishing a journal since 1998—Didier Rittener presented a striking approach to contemporary art. He redefined the question of image reproduction through his large-scale graphite wall drawings, stained wooden objects, and paper transfers—multifaceted transformations of motifs drawn from his Royalty-Free image bank.
In addition to a CHF 15,000 grant awarded directly to the artist and the acquisition of one of his works, the Manor Prize primarily offers the winner a first major solo exhibition.
